Description
This recipe is at least forty years old, from my aunt. It's a mainstay in my parents' house at Christmas.
Ingredients
| 1 | Cup | powdered sugar |
| 2 | Tablespoon | cocoa powder |
| 1 | Cup | finely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans work well) |
| 1 | Cup | shredded or grated coconut |
| 1⁄4 | Cup | bourbon (or rum) |
| 2 1⁄2 | Cup | crushed vanilla wafers, or about 1 tube of digestive biscuits |
| 3 | Tablespoon | sweetened condensed ("evaporated") milk |
Instructions
the food processor is your friend here. use it to chop up/pulverize all your dry ingredients. if you don't have one, you'll have to use a knife or whatever you have to hand.
- mix biscuits, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, nuts and coconut
- add milk, booze. mix well
- form into appropriate sized balls
- roll in more powdered sugar
- store in fridge
Notes
if the mix is too dry for the balls to hold together, add a tiny bit more booze and/or condensed milk
